Like all siblings, Micah & Victoria wished to have their own separate birthday parties this year. Given how different their personalities are, this made perfect sense. It wasn't a bit surprising at the location she chose... Build-A-Bear. Because her birthday falls in the summer, there is going to always be challenges in who of her friends are around to attend. She was lucky in all but two could come. I think the smile in this pictures says it all for her special party.
The hardest part was picking out which friend you wanted to create. There were a few who needed a bit of help weighing the pros and cons of a few choices. But not Victoria! She knew before arriving that she was going to create a unicorn.
Our party leader was amazing. She commanded this group with easy and made the day entirely laid back and non-stressful for everyone including John & I. We liked that very much.
The stuffing.
After stuffing, the new friends needed to be showered to get off any stray stuffing. Then it was off to pick out one outfit for each new bestie.
Our party leader had so many bear-talents including helping with which outfits fit which friends and the challenge with deciding on the outfit. One friend's stuffing string broke. Without batting an eye, she whipped out a few tools and hand sewed the animal shut. I think she's done this before...
Micah very much wanted everyone to know that it was his birthday too. Though this was a "girlie party" I knew he was enjoying the day after picking out a bear and dressing him as a Red Sox player.
Our new friends!
Before saying goodbye, everyone sang Happy Birthday. Though we weren't allowed a cake in the store, they had the coolest replacement. This was a cake in which the candle lite up. You had to blow hard enough for the light to turn off. Close enough to the real thing!
Afterwards we headed to the food court to enjoy cake. We were not allowed to light real candles. My creative husband made these seven candles out of construction paper and tooth picks as any child needs candles on their birthday cake. This resulted in many giggles from the girls and an attempt by Victoria to blow them out.
