It's Jay Peak Time!

Going to Jay Peak in the winter has become a tradition in our household.  Finding a weekend can be challenging for this favorite US and Canadian ski resort.  We lucked out and found time this month.  Our first stop of the day is always the indoor water park.  It's never as crowded in the morning as it is at night.  That means shorter lines and less crowds in their lazy river.
Similar to the last few years, Micah's favorite thing is bodysurfing on the FlowRider.  He was a smidge more daring which caused him to crash pretty hard.  But he got back in line to do it again.
This year Victoria took a leap and tried her hand on bodysurfing.  She did pretty good and commented about her not doing it in the past years.  If only she could hear her self now back then.

I took a stab this year at surfing on the FlowRider.  I have to be honest... I was a bit nervous about falling.  But you fall onto a trampoline which isn't as awful as the ground.  The life guard was an amazing coach.  I am proud to say I stayed up the entire time!
Izzy took a stab at surfing as well but didn't fair as good as I did.  She wiped out within seconds.
John and I reminisced about the first time we came to Jay Peak.  Micah and Victoria weren't even tall enough to ride the slides even with an adult.  This year they are tall enough to ride alone.  When these two figure that out, it was off they went with each other giggling as only their twin relationship can do.

Ahhhh... the lazy river.  This is all of our favorite spot... long and relaxing.
Micah and Victoria may be big enough to ride the slide without an adult, by they returned to the play area which was were we lived when they were younger.
Izzy and I taking a stab at a picture inside the water slide.
One might think the main reason we head to Jay Peak is the water slide.  Truth be told it was and still will be a highlight.  However skiing is taking a forefront for us.  Izzy has embraced the sport and went skiing two days.  On the second day John and her went up to do some blue trails.  After they came back she informed me she's ready for black ones!  Maybe next year.  Micah and Victoria on the other hand both had a chance of going up the ski lift and down a green slope.  I'm proud that all of them have made progress in the past year.

 Izzy and her blue trails.
Thank you to this man who is teaching the kids how to ski.  I'm grateful for his skiing talents to help the kids as I'm not much assistance on the slopes since I'm still learning too.
