To celebrate Izzy's birthday with her friends, we headed to Chez Vous - a historic roller skating rink that has been around near 100 years. Given limited parking, we elected to rent a 15 passenger van to car pool with Izzy's guests. We had fun riding in the van ahead of time to Target and Home Depot for a few errands. Given the response of Izzy's friends for a ride, we ended up taking the van and my car. To keep track of everyone, John grabbed a clipboard checking kids in and out.
Izzy designed the birthday cake she wanted for her 8th birthday party, Beauty and the Beast inspired. It was fun taking her drawing to the cake shop in our neighborhood to see if they could create her vision. The owner of the shop came up with the idea to add the magic mirror which was a fun surprise.
Glow sticks were super fun at the venue. The skaters were first the kids. Slowly the adults, one by one, headed out onto the floor. Roller skating is definitely an activity that all can participate in together.
Izzy had so much fun that I didn't even get a chance to snap a picture of her roller skating. She was off with her friends having the time of her life. Thank you to another parent who nabbed this picture for me.
Both Micah & Victoria roller skated. Victoria did one lap and then was content in running around and being Izzy's shadow. Micah, on the other hand, wanted to skate more making it hard to be the party hostess.
Chez Vous lets the birthday kid take a chance at their money machine. Izzy was determined and aggressive. Catching those dollar bills though are challenging. She walked away with $13 total.
My Fancy Nancy.... I think we counted 10 bracelets on each wrist, 2 rings, 3 necklaces and one headband.
This was one AMAZING party!
