Happy Easter!

In preparation of Easter, the cousins dyed eggs.  Only towards the end did they start getting creative with dying multiple colors.

All the Bures family together for a picture... a rare treat!
The grand kids.... aka 'the cousins' as Izzy calls them.
After returning from church, it looked like the Easter Bunny had found the kids.  He must have given instructions to Oma.  Here she is assigning colors of eggs to the grand kids before they were let loose.
 On your marks.... Get set....
 GO!!!!
I found one or two or three!
Micah... I found your colored egg!
The Easter Bunny knew Micah liked Cars.  He almost forgot to keep searching for eggs.
After all was done, the kids seemed to know to sequester themselves investigating their loot.

Odell Easter Egg Hunt

We were fortunate to be able to return to the farm to celebrate Easter with Oma, Opa and the Dieckman's.  Odell had their annual Easter Egg Hunt in town.  The Easter bunny made an appearance which made everyone excited.... well almost everyone.  Who's missing in this picture?
The kids were separated into groups by age.  Audrey & Izzy were in the Kindergarten class and so had to wait till the younger ones were done before they got to go to the park to find eggs.
Unlike last year, Micah & Victoria knew exactly what to do and had fun doing it.  Each child was to only take 5 eggs.  Micah kept picking them up but was ok when we had to put some back.

When everyone was done, they took their eggs into the Legion where they were given $1 for each egg.  It was special to collect money from who else.... Opa!

Easter Egg Hunt at St Luke's

The weekend before Easter, our church held an Easter egg hunt for the Sunday School.  It should have been outside but because of the perpetual snow, it was in the basement area.  Each child could find 8 eggs.  Izzy quickly found 7 but the last one was harder.  Micah & Victoria didn't quite catch on at first.  But once Victoria found one egg, there was no stopping them.  Luckily the older kids helped the younger ones out by reaching for higher eggs and blocking another child from swiping an egg a younger one saw but was slower in getting to.

 Opening our loot.

So proud of all the eggs we found.

Izzy was exceptionally proud of finding a golden egg.
The lovely Sunday School teachers who put on the Easter egg hunt.

Pool Time

Another fun place to visit when we go to the farm is the local water park. There is a twisty slide. Izzy was brave and wanted to go down.  Initially it was with me but by the end of the day, she did it on her own.
While there, Micah would point towards the twisty slide.  I finally took him down of which he loved.  We went down two other time at his request.
After Izzy and Micah went down, I 'encouraged' Victoria to go down as well.  We only did once.

 Being brave with Oma.
Taking a pool break.  After some exposure to the water and her once trip down the twist slide, this is where Victoria remained enjoying some Skittles.

Summer on the Farm

After posting pictures with a cold theme, thoughts of warm weather were on my mind. I have been extremely tardy in posting these pictures from our summer trip to the farm.  This year we were able to be there during the Gage County Fair which meant fun in the midway and entering projects in open class.
During one of the snow storms last year, a project Izzy & I worked on was a tie-dyed shirt. Here she won a blue ribbon and was so proud!
 Wheeeee!
The kids got these lemurs after playing in the duckie pond.  It is so funny because these are loved things still to this date by all 3.
My friend Jess came down with her husband and kids to visit.  We made a second trip to the fair. A high light was the petting zoo.
Summer time on the farm includes fresh garden foods. The kids enjoyed helping dig potatoes and picking tomatoes.

Farm memories also include the generations who have drank well water from the famous tin cup.
