This weekend was the Brookline Village Fair. I think of this sort of along the lines of community days. This year we participated in the 1 mile run. Proceeds go to Izzy's after school program (PSED). Izzy and I spent the preceding week running around our neighborhood to prepare. We could never have guessed a heat wave would be here to make this more of a challenge.
200+ runners showed up ages ranging from less than 4 to senior citizens.
I was so PROUD of Izzy. We finished in ~12 minutes running in 91 degree weather with a hill to go up to reach the finish line. I told her she was my personal Wonder Woman. As a treat for persevering, we went to see Wonder Woman in the theatre... just mommy & Izzy.
