So hard for me to believe that Izzy turned 7 this past weekend! We celebrated in the morning before she headed off to her father's for the weekend. Things I want to remember about my 7 year old.
1. Creative - Your creative abilities have grown tremendously over the past year. Even your teachers inform me when I pick you up of your latest project. You were picked by your friends to design the outfits and stage for your rock band and the bridesmaid dresses for your friend's wedding. You made a working fishing pole out of pipe cleaners and a fish to catch. You've created many 'stores' in our home that I can shop. Or any combination of uses for pillows. I can't wait to see what's next.
2. Magical - You still have a magical spirit. You are contagious to those around you which is why I hear from you that you are 'popular' at school. You see the fun in situations making any simple task or chore and adventure.
3. Big sister - You are the BEST big sister to Micah & Victoria. As with any siblings you have your days. I smile when I see you help them work out a problem. Or say "mom, I got this" letting me continue what I'm doing (which is usually something for you three). You also create the theme for imaginary play; my favorite being 2 princesses and a knight.
4. School - Reading is not your thing and you are getting extra support. I'm proud that you are at grade level now. Math and science are your strong areas. I think your more like your mother than you know :-)
She was surprised by a balloon drop when she got up. Micah & Victoria also loved the balloons.
Breakfast was a birthday cake inspired doughnut display complete with 7 candles.
We all sang happy birthday and 'helped' blow out the candles.
One of Izzy's recent requests was to have a pair jeans. She then decided she needed a belt. For her birthday she got several that she can choose from which made one happy girl.
A theme for birthday present requests was art. She has really gotten into drawing and asked for drawing supplies and how to books. She was excited with Oma & Opa's origami kit.
The cousin's have a huge impact on Izzy's life. She has now requested to learn how to play the piano after watching them play at Easter. Luckily her after school program has piano lessons as a choice.
