Roller Skating

While back on the farm for Easter, we took the older cousins roller-skating one afternoon.  This was Izzy's first experience.  She started off by clinging on the wall.

By the end, she was skating by herself.  I was so proud of her being able to let go of me.  She even stopped and helped another girl who feel down to get back up.

Happy Easter

For Easter we all headed back to the farm.  Short but wonderful weekend holiday with extended family!
Easter egg dying.  Opa & Oma bought a tie dying kit.  Pretty fun and led to creativity from all.

Competition from the oldest egg dyers.
For entertainment, we had a dance contest.  My favorite and sweetest group was Avery & Micah.  Maybe not the best technically, but fun to watch the testosterone at work.  Their dance was a pillow fight.
Avery & Amelia's group dance showed their fun sibling relationship.
Odell had their town Easter Egg Hunt.  Unfortunately due to weather, there was no hunting outside.  Eggs were given to the kids inside the Legion.  The kids then collected a $1 for each egg.  That made the non-hunting tolerable for the older kids.  Claiming money from Opa is the icing on the cake.

After Easter sunrise service, let the hunting begin!

 Examining the finds.

My favorite was that Izzy wanted curly hair for Easter like her cousin Amelia.  With that goal, she tolerated sleeping in curlers the night before.

Dance Night

Izzy's school recently had 'Dance Night'.  The PTO took over the gym with a DJ and pizza to help give the kids an outlet for physical fun with the cold weather.  I wasn't sure what to expect with classes ranging from 1st to 5th.  It was hilarious as the requests to the DJ ranged from Adelel's Hello with ALL the kids belting it out, Iggy Azelea's Fancy, the Macarena and the Chicken Dance.

I couldn't stop laughing at watching Izzy dance.  There is just something in her that feels the rhythm.  Many of her teachers, especially in her after school program, comment about this part in her.  I was able to catch her dancing to Iggy Azela's Fancy.  Hard to dance since a rap song but she was on beat.  Enjoy!
