COLD Fun

We are in the midst of a hear wave..... Ya Right!  I woke up today to the temperature being -7 degrees.  That makes it rough for young ones as we are inside all or most of the day.  For entertainment, we get creative.  Fort building is always a hit.  This one was one of the most fun since it came equipped with a bench / bed / couch.... whatever you wanted it to be.
Another fun activity was building a pillow pile.  If you make it deep enough, jumping into the pile is exhilarating.

The extreme cold weather can also create other problems.  We came home today with water pouring down from the ceiling in the bathroom and hallway.  A pipe burst in my upstairs neighbor's kitchen.  Luckily we didn't go too long with out running water while things were being fixed.

Happy Valentine's Day!

All 3 of the kids enjoyed creating their Valentine's to give to their friends.  As always, Izzy was a great helper the night before putting the final touches on.  They were also excited to show (and eat) their treats they brought home later.

Since Valentine's Day fell on a Sunday, Sunday School also celebrated.  Because of the cold weather, attendance however was low.

To top off the day, we went with my friend Kerry to go ice skating.  Izzy has been wanting to do this for awhile now.  Since Kerry is originally from Canada, she is the local expert on the topic. We were lucky to have her join us and take Izzy out for a bit.  I was so impressed with Izzy.  She got out there and tried hard.  She laughed when she fell down and got back up to do it again.  By the end, she wasn't really holding onto the wall; only when she lost her balance to get steady again.  And she picked up some speed.  We are definitely going again!

Ice skating was not something these two wanted to try.  I spent most of the time with them being entertained by their silliness.
