Last Day of School!

Friday was officially Izzy's last day of Kindergarten!  The school year was prolonged due to all the snow days we had this winter.  Now off to camp!
Micah did not want is picture to be taken.  Victoria, on the other hand, promptly sat down to be a part of it.

It's Summer Time!

Summers in New England are truly gorgeous.  We headed out to a local park to partake of the water feature.  I packed all 3 swimsuits thinking only Izzy would put hers on.  But to my surprise all 3 wanted them on including Victoria without any encouragement from mommy.  Victoria did stay on the periphery.  She did however touch the water.  We are make steps in the right direction.  Pool time on the farm this summer may be a bit better than last summer.

The faces say it all!

Poetry Contest

April is National Poetry month.  Izzy's curriculum that month was learning about poems.  They learned different styles including Lists, Haiku and Rhyme.  For April vacation, part of her homework that week was to create a poem.  Her teacher also included a form to enter any of the student's poems at poetry contest at a local book store.  They have been holding this contest for 19 years.  There are 5 age categories.  In each category there is 1 overall winner and 4 honors.  Izzy's poem received honors.  At the awards ceremony, we learned that one of her good friends from daycare was the winner!  Connor and Izzy have been going to daycare together since they were babies.

Izzy's poem was about a fashion show.  We watched YouTube videos over and over again to come up with this list.  I asked her what she saw and wrote it down.  Only one word was given by me to her to expand her description.  Can you guess which one?  Hint... comes from the sewer in me.  All the other words came from Izzy.  Not sure what genes she inherited as English was not my strong suit.
Each student had the chance to read their poem to the crowd.  They were then awarded a gift certificate to the book store.  Many kids left that night with a new book.  Izzy picked out a collection of poetry.  I thought that was quite fitting.

Naughty, Naughty

The only word for the twins today was NAUGHTY!  While getting ready in the bathroom this morning, the twins went to play in the play kitchen.  They were making a lot of ruckus which isn't necessarily new.  But when Izzy came running in saying I needed to see what the twins had done, I knew something was up.  They had decided to open 3 bottles of paint, dump them and then 'paint' on the walls, windows, themselves, etc.   They were so proud of themselves.  I threw them in the bath and went to work wiping everything down before it dried.  Izzy was such a great help washing all the plates, toy food, etc in the sink.  I went through one whole roll of paper towels.  I ended up throwing away their PJs.  The pictures doesn't do their mess justice.
