I know many of you have been watching the news about the weather up here. I'm glad to say we survived the blizzard without any significant problems. We did not lose any heat or water. The worst thing was trying to keep the 3 kids from going stir crazy from being stuck inside the same place for three days. Luckily our upstairs neighbor has an 11 year old daughter who played with Izzy 2 days. And our other neighbor has a 9m which gives us a change of pace. Today I did ventrue out with all three for an exciting trip to CVS which was a much needed break and worth the stumbling over snow drifts to get there.
Unfortunately not everyone was as lucky. There was an 11 year boy who died after being put in her car to stay warm while his dad dug the car out of the snow. Because the snow was too high, the exhaust was covered and he died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Here a only a few pics I have been able to get since I had all three kids with me and Abe had to work. I'm sure the pond has some pretty amazing views.
I think this picture is decieving. That is our car covered in snow. It is our Pilot and not Accord. My neighbor and I measure to the top of the car while scooping snow... ~7 feet. I saw others getting on top of their cars with shovels to get the snow off. If you look in the distant you can barely see the tops of other cars. They are completely buried.
Izzy thouroughly enjoyed scooping out the snow. This is right out front of our building. The door is protected because of the side we are on. Our neighbors had more snow to scoop than we did.
I couldn't resist throwing Izzy into the snow. She thought is was fun until the snow got into her face and then she realized she couldn't get up.
This is the view of the top of our building. I'm dreading when these drifts finally fall.
Here is a neighbor's car who decided not to scoop the top off.
