Some sunny weather visited Boston… only for Saturday though. Over the winter we bought bird seed for the feeder on our balcony. We thought the ducks at the pond may enjoy it. And so they did as well as Izzy. Even the geese swam over to get a nibble. The best part was watching the progress of her throwing arm. At first her fist would open about 3 seconds after the top of her arc throwing making the seed land at her feet. After many attempts, she then got the hang of it getting the seed pretty close to the birds. Some of the geese even walked right up to Izzy trying to eat from our hands.

Rain-boots
It has been glum-gloomy up here for several weeks. But thank goodness for Oma & Opa's birthday present. This weekend Izzy & I took a walk outside just to splash in all the puddles. Now she wants to go outside only wearing her rain-boots.

Izzy's 2nd Birthday Party
This year Izzy celebrated her 2nd birthday in the Franklin Park Zoo. We were able to choose from a list of animal encounters. We picked one "girlie" and one "boy" animal thinking all would be delighted. This was Alpha, a female boa. When she arrived almost no one wanted to get close. But in the end almost everyone touched her.
Our other animal encounter was Clyde, a chinchilla. He was the biggest hit with both the kids and adults. I think Izzy would prefer to have one of those over Mr Clay. Not only was he super soft, but his whiskers were so active you couldn't help but giggle.
Izzy was one of the few at the beginning when Alpha arrived to go right up and want to touch her.
He's sooooo soft!
After our party, we all had tickets to ride the carousel and jeep. We piled in 3 of this kids thinking they wouldn't be as scared since last time they all cried when they rode by themselves. That was the trick. It was so funny to watch them try to drive the jeep.
After the zoo, we had an exhausted Izzy. She slept almost 4.5 hours! When she did finally wake up, we had presents to open. She enjoyed Oma & Opa's gift wearing throughout the rest of present opening. She also loved the purse she got from her friend Jonah (riding with her on the jeep).
The Firetruck was a hit Oma & Opa! It was so real sounding she wouldn't stop pushing the buttons.
Izzy blowing out her candle.
This was mom & dad's gift for Izzy. She didn't notice them at first but when she did she didn't put them down.
I spent 2 nights working on the cupcakes after Izzy went to bed. They turned out much better than I expected.
Oh the choices…. Good thing we have left overs!

Izzy's Daycare 2nd B-day Party
Today Izzy celebrated her 2nd birthday at school (aka daycare). I made mini-strawberry cupcakes for her class and the babies right next door. When Izzy was a baby, the ladies always saved her a piece of the toddler's birthday treats so thought it was fair to include them this time around.
Here is Izzy's class with 1 or 2 missing. All are very well behaved and follow directions better than I would have expected for this age range.
Izzy's class made her a card which she loved and carried around for a bit.
Abe had a chance to attend her party. Izzy is sitting with Miss Monica who adores Izzy and Miss Christine who is in charge of the toddler room.
Izzy is sitting next to her BFF Michael. Next to him is Paxton. You are sure to find those 3 together at any time of the day. The boy to the left is Jacob. He is always "tattling" on Izzy even when she isn't doing anything. Here he is demonstrating his vocality as usual.

Mother's Day
Hard to believe that Abe & I had the whole weekend off together. We decided to head out of town and found a place up in the White Mountains of NH that had an indoor water park since it is still very cool up in New England. The best part is that they had activities for all ages.
This is where we spent most of our time. It took over 3 visits to the water park before Izzy was confident to slide on her own. The 1st time she went on mommy's lap. The second time, she insisted on staying up there to push mommy down the water slide.
On the 3rd visit, she was brave enough to do this herself.
She would then "chicken-out", flopping over onto her belly to slide down.
I made it!
This is the lovely face I woke up to on Mother's day. Her favorite phrase now is "I'm funny". I think the picture says that beautifully.
