Happy Easter!
After 3 days of rainy, cold weather… Boston got a break on Easter morning. The rain had stopped and it was warm enough to not wear a jacket. However, the ground was so muddy that we had to rethink our Easter Egg hunt for Izzy. We opted to have the hunt outside our complex. It was perfect for her. Next year we'll need to hide them a bit better though.
Oma & Ope sent Izzy some Easter goodies. This was by far her favorite. When you pushed the top, the chicken would make a song & "poop" pieces of candy into the nest. She thought it was hilarious as did her parents.
All Izzy said this morning was "Easter dress" & "Easter shoes". She even posed to show off her dress. This was another one that I sewed for her recently.
Momma & Izzy relaxing after the egg hunt.
It is custom in Syria to have this Easter candle. Salwa brought one with her during her recent visit. Here we are outside after Easter service.
The egg hunt…. I found one!
Izzy was so serious when looking for the eggs.
When we first started she sort of giggled and then dove into finding all of the eggs.

Easter Egg Dying
Even though I've been on service, I managed to ask a co-resident to cover my pager so we could dye some Easter Eggs today. Izzy gladly participated and dropped her eggs into all the colors. We only dyed 12 eggs but mommy had to finish the last 2 as interest was then lost. Can't wait till next year to see how much more we can do.
This was one of Izzy's eggs. Her eggs were mainly solid colors. She enjoyed the dropping and digging out the best.
The finished product!

Binky
Binky in the Barkoudah house is typically used for sleeping purposes. Over time, we have accumulated many sizes of binkies for the ever growing Izzy. Recently, she found the stash of ones we used when she was a baby. She came out of her room tickled with three in her hand wanting to share with her stuffed animals. She even wanted to pose for the picture. I'm not sure how we are going to rid our lives of binky. For now, nothing is harmed so we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Our life with Izzy at 22 months
Life with Izzy captured in pictures….
Bath time is one of Izzy's favorite activities… especially with her bath toys. She just gets a kick out of lining them up (with help from mommy) and then whacking them into the bath water. We have to go down the list naming them as well.
Below… Izzy playing with her jewelry. Clay humored her while he got dressed up as well.
Since Teta has been with us… Izzy has gotten her fair share of Syrian food. One of the families favorites is tabouli which Teta has made several times. They mistakenly gave Izzy the whole bowl. She didn't think twice about digging in to eat.
Can't you just see the "MINE" come out of that mouth when they tried to take the bowl away!
That's better…. my own bowl of tabouli!
Even Rody isn't spared from playing dress-up.
I'm not sure what Izzy would do without boxes & stuffed animals. Every time a package arrives, all she wants is the box. Once in, she asks for "animals". Then its off for a ride around the apartment.
Izzy had her 1st major boo-boo last week. While I was on-call I received a frantic call from Abe that she cut her face after running into the metal keyboard shelf on the new desk. He was asking if she needed to be brought to the ED to be evaluated. I asked for him to send a picture. Not too bad. It didn't need stitches but is sure taking a long time to heal.
