Birthdays!

As I mentioned before, our family is rittled with birthdays at the end of September. This past Sunday was my 32nd birthday. I didn't really feel too much older that day but have since Izzy was born. But she is so worth it. We had a small celebration that night with cake & candles. Today was my mom's 59th birthday... not to be confused with the "almost 60th" birthday which Di & I commented on. The funny thing was that we were the only two who did :-)

Enjoying my favorite cake... red velvet!

A surprise for mom... ice cream cake... her favorite.

First Day at Daycare

Today was a big day for Izzy. She officially started her transition to daycare. My mother was kind enough to come to Boston for the two weeks of transitioning since neither Abe or myself could do this. It was tearful for me last night thinking that we were just dumping Izzy off at some strange place. But I called & she slept the entire 1.5hrs that she was suppose to do today. I guess it didn't phase her one bit!

First Food

Yesterday was a busy day at the Barkoudah household. We only had half a day to get several things accomplished. We decided to give Izzy her first taste of solid foods... rice cereal! She did amazingly well. Only a small portion when down her face, up her nose, on her shirt.... I think the adults were more entertained that she was.

This isn't so bad...

Or maybe it is!

Happy Birthday to us!

We also decided to have a joint celebration of birthdays.... Salwa (9/21), Habib (9/27) & myself (9/27). They weren't expecting the cake & gifts which made it all the more fun.

Swimming

As most people from New England know, it rains alot during the fall. This puts a bit of a damper on our daily walks with Izzy. So we had to find something else to do. Earlier this week, I signed Izzy up for "Baby Splash".... baby swimming lessons. Since this begins after Teta & Judo leave, I figured this would also be a fun experience for the grandparents. I was a bit worried that all the loud noise & splashing would bother her, but she was perfect... even when I dunked her!

The dreaded dunk!
